Temperatures hovered at 0c when the girls ventured out this week . Fingers required defrosting before they even left market cross.
The weak sunshine was lovely to see but not strong enough to provide any warmth .
Plans were made and off they headed for a fast but flat run towards the coast .
At 14 km with the sign post for Berts looming it was decided to have an early pitstop to allow further defrosting, an early stop to say the least but as it was just the two of them no one else needed to know they were stopping so early ……of course forgetting that Sharrin had live track running on her Garmin. Tea was gladfully taken and once the chef had finished admiring ( and weighing ) their bikes off they set again only for sharrin’s phone to ring with a perturbed Stephen asking if they had just had the coffee stop !! Next stop on the trip was the old Victorian mental hospital at Brandesburton , where Heather explained that John Harrison had brought back from his travels lots of botanical treasures and 11 pygmies from Zaire!
Time now for some serious cycling and the plan was made to head towards Frodingham . Easily done however once they turned around the wind was now in front and it took a longer time to get back !
Another ride completed in January , chilly just not hilly !
