Another good turn out for todays run to TJs. The route saw nine knights heading out over the Westwood and on to Etton and South Dalton. Taking the mere road to Lockington where we almost lost Raymond as he  missed the turn off towards Kilnwick (must have been so excited at being in the lead). Fortunately a good shout and he returned to the fold.

From Kilnwick we followed the Cawkeld road to Watton then on towards Tophill Low and round to Hutton Cranswick. It was a really quiet road but made “exciting” by dodging all the potholes and many right angle bends. It was suggested the one particular section was nicknamed “Flanders Field”, probably apt given the size of some potholes. Having enjoyed mostly tail winds, turning onto Sheepman lane we started to get a blast from the bow, so arriving at TJs was quite welcome.

Refreshments at TJs

While busy refreshing ourselves we noted one absentee, who was spotted still outside making repairs to Jenny’s front wheel. Seems like the puncture fairy has a bone to pick with the Wilsons! After a bit of furniture rearrangement there was enough room for us all to get round one table.

Refreshments over, it was back to cool head winds over Burnbutts, through Bracken and returning via South Dalton, Etton and Cherry Burton, where various people started breaking off for their final leg home.
